Mini cricket bat
Project type
Woodworking
Date
July 2025
The mini cricket bat is a well defined bat comparable in size to a 12 year olds bat but designed for teenagers and young adults to use because of the increased grip size to fit both hands. The bat was designed and made with a friend who is a keen cricket player and followed on from some much smaller cricket bats i had made in previous years. The project helped me explore and research cricket bat stickers and how to design proffesional looking ones and gained me a lot of experince in colour choices. To make the bat i used a piece of cheap softwood i sourced from B&Q. The wood had to be cut down to a reasonable length and smoothed thouroughly before beginning shaping because of very splintery wood. To make the bat i used my powered sander tool which i had got recently which helped me to shape the product very quickly and make corrections where needed. Overall, i really enjoyed the product and i got a high quality product out of it.
